Professional Experience

May 1996 – present:  US Navy, Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center, Charleston SC.  Project Manager (DP3/GS-0856-13) for Air Traffic Control and Meteorology Equipment Support and Online Configuration and Maintenance Data Accounting Systems (see https://atc.navy.mil/).  Currently serving in an Additional Duty (ADDU) status as Meteorology Equipment Officer on the staff of Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command.

 

·          Life cycle management of shore-based meteorology systems for Navy activities worldwide.

·          Leadership of government/contract team providing web-enabled configuration and maintenance data management.

·          Development and execution of project goals and strategy.

·          Accountable for all technical, administrative, and financial aspects of projects.

·          Administration of $700,000+ in annual funding from multiple resource sponsors.

·          Evaluation, selection, procurement, life-cycle support, and disposition of office and information systems hardware and software in support of web/database development environment.

·          Preparation/delivery of workload and travel schedules, technical and administrative reports, and presentations to a variety of audiences.

·          Successful problem solver and team builder.

 

April 1980 - May 1996: Electronics Technician First Class, US Navy (Retired)

 

·          Managed 34 technicians providing Air Traffic Control systems maintenance support for NAS Whiting Field, Milton FL, and thirteen outlying airfields.

·          Coordinated maintenance for more than 1500 individual chassis.

·          Administered annual maintenance budget in excess of $250,000.

·          Performance and personal counseling of subordinate personnel.

·          1993 NAS Whiting Field Sailor of the Year.
